New Pokemon Magiana, thoughts and predictions

Description

On February 10th 2016 a new pokemon was revealed following Gamefreak's long tradition of revealing new pokemon (at least nominally new in that they haven't been revealed yet) in early to mid February. I feel as though an example must be given of this to illustrate the point, which I've yet to make.

Keldeo was revealed on the 15th of February in 2012
Sylveon on the 14th of the following year (2013)
Diancie on the same day the following year (2014)
Hoopa on the 10th of 2015

Now in one of these cases (Sylveon) the reveal prompted a new generation of Pokemon, but Sylveon was revealed after an announcement had already been made that a new generation of games were in production.  So I don't think we can expect a new generation of pokemon to follow this announcement, however, I think it is fully possible that a few new pokemon are introduced to spruce up the next title, which at this point is probably Pokemon Z. On the other hand it is fully likely that Magiana is nothing more than a Keldeo, a left over pokemon from Gen 6. But the curious thing, if that is the case, is that Magiana was not found in X and Y, as Keldeo could be found in Black and White, and Diancie could be found in X and Y (by cheats of course). Therefore you might make the case that Magiana is a wholly recent development that doesn't stretch as far back as Volcanion, Hoopa, and Diancie. I think this would be important to know to gain insight into the development of the next games.  Because Volcanion was originally thought to have something to do with energy (as in one of the other four power plants in Kalos), the recent development that it hates humans may have been specifically contrived for the purpose of its feud with Magiana.  This might mean that the writers and developers have found a more interesting purpose for Volcanion, who was originally abstract.

Furthermore, the description we have of Magiana, and the role it will play in the movie seem to suggest that they are further expounding this thread of Volcanion hating humans, especially the type of humans that create a pokemon with their own hands.  I think that development too is insightful, after all if a group of people, the so called Kingdom of Azoth, made this pokemon with their hands, it is fully possible they made others.  Although, I feel that, that is probably not a road they'd want to take the series down; although they sort of already did with Genesect.

So now the question becomes what can we expect? While I type this it is only the early morning hours in some parts of Japan, and so this means that the big scoop that corocoro promised for February 12th is yet to come. Unless we assume that this is the big scoop, which seems to be how corocoro usually operates, once again being a huge let down, as what we can tell from the one thing that has leaked so far is really more of a tiny scoop which leaves us clawing for the ice cream bucket. I had originally thought that Pokemon Z would be announced on February 27th to coincide with the release date of the original games, and it is still probable that this could happen, unless of course there is a big scoop on the 12th and it happens to be Pokemon Z. With the reveal of this pokemon what I'd like to see happen in the game is something following the model of ORAS, where the primary story follows the Zygarde cores and 100% form, and then there is specifically defined post game adventure having to do with Volcanion and this new pokemon (of course I would also like to see new pokemon and a new region or at least expansion to the region but those are unlikely to happen).

As for my thoughts on the new pokemon Magiana I will say this, personally I don't like it. However I didn't like Diancie at first either, or Volcanion (although I still think it looks dumb). It seems to me that Gamefreak would've learned their lesson after coming out with Foongus and Amoongus that pokemon whose designs are based around pokeballs are 9 times out of ten awful looking. That brings me to a second point about the design. While it is fully clear that this pokemon's design is heavily based off of pokeballs, I think it would be safe to say that it will have something to do with the Laverre City pokeball factory.  Lastly, I think it will be a Steel/Fairy Type but I'm pretty sure that was what everyone thought when they first saw it.

As for what Generation, personally I think its Gen VI.

Why? In ORAS's (Also I recently found out in X and Y) code under the Blue Pentagon section, it says
4/6 or 3/6. (Can't remember which one it says). So that means: there are two more games with the Blue Pentagon as ID waiting to be released.

To me there are TWO PATHS Gamefreak will go down: Either they've cancelled Z OR ZY/ZX (or whatever it'll be called) will be released this year. I'm putting a dollar on the Gen VI Kalos Sequel.
